How I Spent My Summer Vacation

Sam Weller started it, so blame him. Beginning in May, a big bunch of students from the Columbia College Fiction Department will commit to writing 500 words, every day, in connection with a current or new project. The idea of being a writer is to write. Since I am notoriously easy to distract and since I have a huge plate full of obligations that otherwise distract me, I decided to make my effort public to hold my nose to the grindstone. You can follow my progress right here on my blog. I’m going to be working on both my novel Opening Day and the biography of Jeanette Esposito Braun – working title Daddy’s Girl.
